Winston was surrendered to the shelter after previous owners believed he had a urinary blockage they were unable to treat. However, vets quickly discovered the real cause of his pain: months of malnutrition had left his bones brittle, leading to repeated infections and constant pain.

X-rays revealed Winston had multiple old pelvic fractures and a new spinal fracture, all caused by vitamin deficiency. These injuries were so excruciating they left Winston unable to use the restroom on his own. Since, he’s endured multiple hospitalizations, endless medications, and ongoing pain management to stabilize his condition.
